				  Main Types of Religion
Religions around the world can be categorized in various ways, but one common approach is to classify them into four main types based on their beliefs, practices, and origins.
- Animism: This is the belief that natural objects, places, and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence. Animistic religions are often found among indigenous and tribal societies.
 - Polytheism: This type involves the belief in and worship of multiple gods or deities. Examples include Ancient Greek, Roman, and Hindu religions.
 - Monotheism: Monotheistic religions believe in the existence of only one God. Major examples include Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.
 - Atheism and Non-theism: While not religions in the traditional sense, atheism (the belief that there is no god) and non-theism (lack of belief in any gods) are often included in such classifications. Buddhism, for example, is often considered non-theistic because it does not focus on the worship of gods.

Some scholars may use slightly different categories, but these four types broadly cover the spectrum of religious belief systems.
