What is Animation?
Animation is a technique in which a series of images or frames are displayed rapidly in succession to create the illusion of movement. It is widely used in film, television, video games, and digital media to tell stories, illustrate concepts, or entertain audiences.
Main Types of Animation
- Traditional Animation: Hand-drawn images shown in sequence.
- Computer Animation: Digital images generated using computer software (includes 2D and 3D animation).
- Stop Motion Animation: Physically manipulating objects frame by frame (e.g., claymation, puppet animation).
- Motion Graphics: Animated graphic designs, often used in advertisements and presentations.
How Animation Works
- An animator creates a sequence of images, each showing a slight change from the previous one.
- These images are played back at a fast rate (usually 24 frames per second or more).
- The human eye perceives these rapidly changing images as continuous motion.
