One well-known example of folklore is the legend of Robin Hood. Originating from English folklore, Robin Hood is a heroic outlaw who, according to the stories, lived in Sherwood Forest with his band of Merry Men. He is famous for "robbing from the rich and giving to the poor," fighting against injustice and the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham. The tales of Robin Hood have been passed down through generations via oral storytelling, ballads, and later, literature and film.
