				  Aviation Cocktail Ingredients
The Aviation is a classic gin-based cocktail known for its beautiful violet hue and floral notes. It was first created in the early 20th century and has become a favorite among cocktail enthusiasts.
Classic Aviation Cocktail Recipe
- 2 oz gin
 - 1/2 oz maraschino liqueur (such as Luxardo)
 - 1/4–1/2 oz crème de violette (adjust based on desired color and flavor; some recipes omit this)
 - 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice

Preparation
- Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
 - Shake well until chilled.
 - Strain into a chilled cocktail glass (usually a coupe).
 - Garnish with a cherry or a lemon twist, if desired.

Note: The inclusion of crème de violette gives the Aviation its signature pale purple color. Some historical recipes omit this ingredient, resulting in a clearer drink with more emphasis on the gin and maraschino flavors.
